
Development Manager
Xolani Lowrance Nhlapo is a South African actor, writer, and theatre director known for his compelling performances and innovative directing style.
His work spans television commercials, stage productions, and community outreach programs, where he has made significant contributions to the performing arts industry. He holds a National Diploma in Performing Arts, specializing in Directing, from Tshwane University of Technology.
He co-wrote Indlela with Bongani Bennedict Masango and performed in it, the play had its international debut at the ACCEL Festival in Harare, Zimbabwe. He was appointed as the assistant director for The Brother’s Wife, produced by Abantu Creatives.
As part of the South African State Theatre’s Mayibuye Community Outreach Programme, Nhlapo mentored and directed community theatre productions under the annual MCO festival. He conceptualized, wrote, and directed Born Free for the Pop Art 12/12 Live Arts Festival at Joburg Theatre.
The production later featured at the South African State Theatre’s Youth Expressions Festival, further cementing his impact on contemporary theatre. In 2023, Nhlapo founded Monumental Acts (MA), a creative arts production company dedicated to shaping minds, energizing communities, and redefining the future of theatre.
